What is Studio Art?

"Thanks to art, instead of seeing a single world, our own, we see it multiply until we have before us as many worlds as there are artists."
Marcel Proust

The Studio Art course is being offered for the first time during the 2003-2004 school year by Helen Rindsberg for the Cincinnati Public Schools' Virtual High School. It is a one semester course where students learn the basic elements and principles of design. (There are plans to expand it to a second semester.) They explore and experiment with two-dimensional and three-dimensional media to create their own original artworks. They use web resources and printed materials to learn about art and artists from many diverse cultures.

Many foundations and individual donors have given generously to the world's great art museums so that they may share their treasures on the World Wide Web. They are expanding everyone's vision. Thank you!
