Notes:
We like to use "Family name" and "Given name" instead of first/last names.
First which way? Ours or the Japanese way, where family name comes first.
And "Christian" name? What if they're Buddhist or Shinto?
Notice that myoji and namae are compounds; both use the same first character which means "name".
Myoji literally means "name character". And namae means "name in front" – which would sort of suggest "First name" even though it comes at the end.
Add this to the list of reasons why the writing system makes it a difficult language, I guess.
