Eel may not seem like an appealing thing to eat, especially if you've ever SEEN an eel up close and personal.
But you'll find it all over Japan and it's delicious.

You'll most often find FRESH WATER EEL, UNAGI
SEA eel is ANAGO
Both are served cooked, usually broiled, but NOT RAW.

Sushi, kabayaki and donburi are the most common unagi dishes.

DONBURI = a big bowl of rice with goodies on top. There are many different kinds of donburi.
DONBURI is often shortened to just DON.
Ten-don = Tempura donburi
Una-don = Unagi donburi
Gyu-don = gyuniku donburi = beef
